WASHINGTON…Ruth I. Lange, 75, of Washington, passed away at 9:35 a.m., Sunday, March 21, 2010 at her home with her family by her side.
Ruth was born on June 21, 1934 in Peoria to Lyle “Ted” and Meta “Dorothy” Schone Snead. She married Bernard Lange on August 18, 1972 in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Washington. Bernie survives.
Also surviving is her mother, Dorothy Snead of Washington; one daughter, Marla Sams of Washington; two sons, Samuel (Marla) Reeder and Thomas (Debbie) Reeder, both of Washington; one sister, Anita Snead of Atlanta, Illinois; six loving grandchildren, Ashley, Michael, Megan, Benjamin, Carly and Lacey and one great granddaughter, Isabella. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother.
Ruth had been a secretary for Caterpillar of 30 years prior to her retirement in 1992, last working in Mossville.
She was a graduate of Washington Community High School and a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, where she had been active in the altar guild.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home with Pastor Dick Hanson officiating. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Peoria.
Those family members serving as pallbearers are Sam Reeder, Tom Reeder, Mike Reeder, Ben Reeder, Seth Elschlager and Bob Lange.
