ELAINE (MANNING) MILLER, of Hingham, died on Saturday, March 20th, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous 3 1/2 year battle with cancer. She was 71. She was born in Wilkinsburg, PA and came to Hingham 56 years ago. Mrs. Miller was a 1956 graduate of Hingham High School and a 1958 graduate of Forsythe School for Dental Hygienists in Boston. She also attended Quincy Junior College. Mrs. Miller was a dental hygienist by profession and over the years was associated with the Hingham offices of Dr. Elbert S. Stallard, Dr. Peter D. Kramers and most recently with Dr. Jeffrey B. Darling. She was devoted to her grandchildren and was constantly going to their baseball, hockey, football and soccer games as well as supporting their skiing at the Suicide Six Ski Area in Vermont. For the past two summers she traveled to Cooperstown, NY, where her grandsons participated in games in that famous baseball town.
She was the beloved wife of Fred Miller of Hingham; and mother of Douglas H. Miller and his wife Kathryn of Woodstock, VT, Heather M. Hutchins and her husband Ronald of Hingham and the late Julie Elaine Miller. Sister of Bruce S. Manning and his wife Toni of Pembroke; and loving grandmother of Elizabeth and Kathryn Miller of Woodstock, VT and David, Robert and Brian Hutchins of Hingham. Also survived by her Sister-In-Law, Marcia C. Bohlke of Quincy.
Relatives and friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Tuesday, March 23rd, from 3-8 PM.

The funeral services and interment are to be private.
