WORCESTER___Amelia F. (Zicius) Serafin, 91, of Worcester, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in Christopher House. Her husband, Joseph B. Serafin died in 1976.
She leaves two daughters, Dorothy A. Baron and her husband Thomas of Worcester; and Frances G. McManus and her husband Gerald of Whitinsville; five grandchildren, Stacy Stephenson, Amy Cole, Andrew Baron, Christine Baron and Stephanie Baron, five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Katie, Spencer, Jack and Luke and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Urevich. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Motiejus and Amelia (Grigaliunas) Zicius and has lived here all her life.
Mrs. Serafin was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, the Our Lady of Czestochowa Church Women’s Guild and was a volunteer for the Worcester Girl’s Club. Amelia loved cooking and gardening. The family wishes to thank the staff of Christopher House for their wonderful and loving care.
The funeral will be held on Monday, March 22 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 10:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday, March 21 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
