LOWELL: Mr. Emile E. "Mo" "Emo" Letourneau, age 63, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died unexpectedly on Thursday March 18th, 2010, at Saints Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Susanne I. (Martineau) Letourneau, with whom he celebrated 40 years of marriage on Sept. 13th.
Mo was born in Lowell on November 6th, 1946, son of the late Felix J. & Cecile R. (Turcotte) Letourneau. He received his education in Lowell Schools. He was a parishioner of the former St. Louis de France Church in Centralville. Recently he was a communicant of St. Michael's Church.
He was employed in maintenance for the past several years at Tewksbury State Hospital. Prior to that, he was employed in shipping & receiving at Joan Fabrics in Lowell for 40 years.
He was also an avid hockey fan. He was the captain of the Islanders hockey team.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and their spouses, Albert P. Letourneau, USAF, and his wife Michelle, stationed in Nebraska, Phillip R. Letourneau and his spouse Michael Roy of Nashua; two daughters and their spouses, Rose M. Letourneau and her spouse Billie-Jo Blyda of Holyoke, MA, and Kathleen L. Haas, and her husband Louis C. Haas, Jr. of Lowell; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Albert R. & Susan Letourneau of Nashua, Paul R. & Mary Letourneau of Barrington, NH; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine & Fred Donnelly of Chelmsford, Rita & William Gettings of Lowell, Priscille & Mark McDonough of Dunstable, Claudette Letourneau and her husband David Roy of Lowell; five grandchildren (with one-on-the-way), Louis V, Emily, Kaitlyn, Tessa, Nicolas, and Gabriella due in two weeks; was to be great-grandfather to Spencer due in two weeks; also four step-grandchildren, Denise, Melissa, Katie and Adam; also two godsons, Dominic Fox and Joseph Camacho; and many nieces & nephews.
He was also brother of the late Pauline F. Letourneau who passed in 1952.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives & Friends will be received at the M.R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME on Monday Mar. 22, 2010 from 12:00(noon)-2:00 PM & 5:00-7:00 PM. Funeral Tuesday morning with a Funeral Mass to be offered at 10:00 AM at St. Michael's Church, Bridge & 6th Sts., Lowell. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
