Francesca (Campo) Lombardo, of Somerville, died Wednesday at Massachusetts General Hospital, after a brief illness. She was 87.
Born in Salemi, Sicily, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and the late Francesca (Castiglione) Campo. Francesca and her husband settled here in 1964. She worked in the clothing industry as a stitcher until her retirement. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed the company of her many relatives and friends.
The beloved wife of the late Gaspare, she was a dear sister to Maria Terranova of Somerville. She was a loving aunt to Teresa Esposito of Malden and her children Gianfranco and Erica, Tony Lombardo of Texas and Anna Fenton of Texas.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday, March 22, at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
