Dolores (Brenner) Mansfield, of Carver formerly of Plymouth, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 79 on March 18th. Survived by her husband Harold Mansfield with whom she just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, her daughter and son-in-law Claudia and John Furtado of Plymouth and her grandson Adam Shaw and his fiance Angela King of Del Mar, CA. She also leaves her sister Diane Pires of Yuma, AZ, her brother August Brenner of Plymouth, brothers and sisters in law and several loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mansfield began her working years as a medical secretary. She then owned a home decorating business called “The Living Room” and retired as the Executive Secretary of Old Colony Elderly Services, where she had also served as executive director. Mrs. Mansfield enjoyed many years of travel with Mr. Mansfield. Many of her most cherished memories were with their dear friends who were brought together many years after WWII when Mr. Mansfield had served with them in the 309th Bomb Group US Army Air Corp. She enjoyed her many new friends that she met at South Meadow Village, in particular, the “knit Wits” Group who met weekly to chat and knit or sew together.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 20th at the Chiltonville Congregational Church at 11 AM. There are no visiting hours and burial is private. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations in her memory be made to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Cr, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
