Mr. Paul J. Cardoso, a resident of Eliot, Maine, formerly of Lawrence and Windsor, Colorado, died at the Portsmouth Hospital in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. He was 53 years old.
Paul was born in Methuen on March 7, 1957, the son of Patricia M. (Hennessey) Cardoso and the late Alfred J. Cardoso. He was a graduate of St. Patrick Grammar School, Lawrence High School, class of 1974 and U Mass Lowell, class of 1978. Paul received his Masters Degree in Criminal Justice in 2009, from Kaplan University and had also attended Concord Law School.
He was an active parishioner of St. Patrick Church in Lawrence. He had been a soloist and altar boy as a young boy and an adult soloist and cantor at the church. He was also the CYO Co-director for many years as well as the Folk Group director at St. Patrick’s.
Besides his loving mother, Patricia, he will be sorely missed by four siblings, Donna and her husband Joseph Felzani of Revere, Brenda and her husband Kenneth Lepere of Eliot, Maine, Stephen Cardoso of Dracut and Jeffrey and his wife Nicole Cardoso of Salem, New Hampshire and four nieces, Kathryn, Lauren, Courtney and Kayla. He was also the brother of the late James “Jay” Cardoso.
His funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 114 South Broadway, Lawrence, Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Calling hours were held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Friday, March 19, 2010, from 4 to 8 PM. Burial was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, North Andover.
