WORCESTER___David A. Goodrich, 86, of 81 Chatham St., died Thursday Oct. 9 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center 119 Belmont St.
His wife, Marie J. (Collette Hebert) Goodrich died Oct. 13, 1983.
He leaves a daughter, Marie E. Nichols, two sons, Joseph “Albert” Goodrich and Richard C. Goodrich, all of Worcester; two brothers, Walter Goodrich of Florida and George W. Goodrich of Auburn; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Several family members died before him including a son; Francis D. Goodrich on June 10, 1981; two grandsons, Joseph A. Goodrich on April 16, 1994 and Guy W. Goodrich on Feb. 14, 1993; two brothers, John Goodrich and Herbert “Penny” Goodrich and five sisters, Hannah, Jessie, Terry, Julia and Nora. He was born in Abington, son of William A. and Jessie P. (Oliver) Goodrich and lived here for most of his life.
Mr. Goodrich was a truck driver many years for area companies and retired in 1979 from Benny Cotton Co. He was educated in Worcester schools.
The funeral will be held Tuesday Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. in Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton St. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday Oct. 13 from 5 to 8 p.m.The family requests that flowers be omitted.
