WORCESTER-Thomas E. McGauley, 91, of Worcester died March 18th in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. His wife of 56 years Barbara L. (Jessup) McGauley died in 2001. He leaves a son, T. Kevin McGauley and his wife Joan, of Douglas; two daughters, Patricia M. Anzivino and her husband Ronald, of Sutton and Sandra M. Augusto and her husband Joseph, of Worcester; four grandsons, Michael Moore, Brian and Sean McGauley and Christopher Anzivino; and several nephews and nieces. His son, Brian E. McGauley and his sister, Rita Fenton predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester the son of Edward and Nora (Barnicle) McGauley. Mr. McGauley graduated from Commerce High School and served during World War II in the Army Air Corps. He had worked for over 60 years as a motion picture operator in many local theaters, retiring two years ago. Mr. McGauley was a member of Local 96 International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees, and had served as its Business Agent and Secretary. He was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Parish and its Parish Council. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Notre Dame Long Term Care Center for the care and many acts of kindness extended to their father during his stay.
The funeral is Monday, March 22th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, March 21st from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
