NATICK: Teresa F. “Terry” Michalec, 84, died on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Natick following a period of declining health.
She was born in Ware on December 19, 1925 the daughter of the late Julian and Blanche (Koziol) Michalec.
Miss Michalec is survived by her niece, Patricia Ann Brandt of Willington, CT and her grandniece Juli L. B. Watrous and her husband Steve of Willington, CT. She is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and great grand-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved animals, Sam, Rooh, Tyler and Patches, who were everything to her. She was the sister of the late Mary Coleman, Alice Slaby, Agnes McLeod, Josephine Chase, Monica Proctor, Matilda Kowalczyk and Vincent Michalec.
Terry has been a resident of Natick for over 60 years and previously resided in South Bend, Indiana. She spent her formative years in Ware and was a graduate of Ware High School. She had a long career of over 40 years with the United States Government. She began her career at the Quartermaster, Natick Army Labs as a secretary and retired from Hanscom Air Force Base in the Security Clearance Division. She enjoyed traveling to the Cape and was an accomplished artist and enjoyed painting landscapes in the medium of oil. She also delighted in spending time in her vegetable and flower gardens and being with her beloved pets, especially Rooh.
Visitations will be held on Friday, March 19, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Bryant Memorial Chapel of the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Route 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford Street, Natick on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 9:00 am where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Interment will follow in St. Zepherins Cemetery, Bent Avenue in Cochituate Village, Wayland.
