Peter Cecchini, a longtime Medford resident, died Saturday in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford. He was 95.
Born in Barga, Italy, he was the son of the late Joseph and the late Cesaria (Marchetti) Cecchini. He came to the United States at the age of 12 and settled in Charlestown. He then worked at his family’s fruit store. He later worked for Sunnyhurst Dairy. Before his retirement he managed the Sunnyhurst grocery store in West Medford.
He was the beloved husband of Mary V. (Juffre) with whom he shared 71 years of marriage. He was the devoted father Julia C. Bucci and her husband Anthony and Carol A. Corrado and her husband Angelo all of Medford. He was a loving grandfather to Steven, Linda, Peter, Yvonne, Michelle, and is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford Tuesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
