Steven L. LaBrode, 59, of New Bedford died Monday March 15, 2010 surrounded by his family at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in Acushnet, the son of Lillian (Perry) LaBrode of New Bedford and the late John E. LaBrode, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
Mr. LaBrode was employed as a medical lab technician at St. Luke's Hospital. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Bristol Community College.
He enjoyed air shows, automobiles, whale watching, and vacationing in Disney World with his daughter.
The family would like to extend special thanks to all of his friends in St. Luke's Medical Lab.
Survivors include his mother; a daughter, Renee DeLoid of New Bedford; three brothers, John E. LaBrode, Jr. and his wife Cecelia of Fairhaven, Alan J. LaBrode and his wife Ann of Hopedale, and Ronald D. LaBrode and his wife Darrah of New Bedford; two sisters, Carol A. LaBrode and her fiancée Phillip Chevalier, and Patricia A. Zussy and her husband Robert, all of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance, 11 Clarence Soule Drive, Middleboro, MA 02346.
