Juliann G. (Bourassau) Davis, 86, of Brentwood, NH, died Friday March 12, 2010 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood. Mrs. Davis was born in Montreal, Canada on May 19, 1923, daughter of the late George and Melvina (Langvin) Bourassau. Brought to the U.S. by her aunt in a trunk, she became a naturalized citizen in the 1950's. She was a resident of Derry, NH for more than 65 years, formerly of Wilmot Flats, NH. From 1960 she was employed by the HF Harris Stamp Factory, retiring when they closed. She also worked as a lunch cook and baker at the Hood Memorial Jr. High School, Derry. Mrs. Davis was a longstanding member of the First Baptist Church and the Calvary Bible Church, both of Derry. She was a member of the Christian Women's Ministries of the Calvary Bible Church as well as the Senior Saints. Having won trophies for her crafts, she enjoyed tole painting, scrapbooking and making wreaths from pine cones collected in the White Mountains. She enjoyed time spent at her camp at Chestnut Pond in Epsom, NH and rides at Canobie Lake Park with her granddaughter.
She is survived by her son Brian Davis and his wife Donna of Epsom, NH, her daughter Claudia Morrison and her husband Frank of Derry, NH, six grandchildren, Kourtney, Adam, Sam, Lianne, Trisha and Jeanney and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Doris O'Connell of Arkansas, her sister-in-law Doris Ladeux of Dracut, MA, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ray W. Davis Jr., former Fire Chief of Derry, and two sisters Eva Burdette and Julia Devani.
Calling hours were held Monday, March 15th from 5 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A funeral service was held Tuesday at 10:00am at the Calvary Bible Church, 145 Hampstead Rd., Derry. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
