Obituary

DUDLEY – Joseph M. “Joe Prez” Perzanoski, 95, of Dudley, died Friday, March 12, in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after a short illness. His wife of 61 years, Gladys V. (Dabrowski) Perzanoski, died in 2002.

He leaves a son, Charles A. Perzanoski of Dudley; a daughter, Elaine V. Falke of Webster; 7 grandchildren, Scott, Allen, Karen, Ellen, Marie, James and William; 7 great grandchildren; a sister, Ann Burkott of Moore, SC; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a daughter Mary in 1942 and by a son Joseph in 1952, by 2 sisters, Frances Schott and Eugenia Knapik, and by 2 brothers, Edward and Wesley Perzanowski.

He was born and raised in Westfield, the oldest son of Walter and Aniela (Mieczkowski) Perzanowski. He lived in Webster and Dudley most of his life.

Mr. Perzanoski was a machinist at the American Optical Company in Southbridge, at Crompton Knowles in Worcester and at A & M Tool and Die in Southbridge. He retired in 1976.

He was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica in Webster and the Booster Athletic Club, also in Webster. He enjoyed fishing and was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox. He especially looked forward to weekly Sunday gatherings with his family.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, March 16, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Calling hours are from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, March 15 and also from 8:45 to 10:15 AM Tuesday, March 16, at the funeral home. Donations in his name may be made to either to Tri-Valley Elder Services, 10 Mill St., Dudley, MA 01571 or to the Friends of St. Joseph School Fund, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster, MA 01570.
