Obituary

East Bridgewater – Ronald J. “The Ace” Blair 62 died Friday March 12 in his East Bridgewater home surrounded by his loving family after a brave battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Jeanne (Lucas) Blair.

Born in Somerville and raised in Boston he was the son of the late Albert Blair and Rita Rosato of East Wareham.

Ron attended Taunton High School before enlisting in the US Navy and serving during the Vietnam War from 1965 -1969 earning a Vietnam Service Medal and a Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a proud member of the VFW of Brockton.

He was a resident of East Bridgewater since 1978 and a member of the East Bridgewater Commercial Club.

Ron worked as a letter carrier for the US Post Office for 36 years and enjoyed camping at the Canoe River in Mansfield. He especially enjoyed the time spent at his condo at Captain Quarters of Falmouth Hieghts Beach.

In addition to his wife Jeanne and his mother Rita he is survived by his children Kevin Blair and his wife Jennifer of Halifax and Debbie Belcher and her husband Michael of East Bridgewater, his sisters Caroline Robertson of Wareham, Alberta Healey of Derry, NH, Virginia Bentley of Crystal River, FL and Rita Knox of Stoneham. He is also survived by his grandchildren Haley Belcher, and Patrick and Devon Blair as well as many nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held Tuesday March 16 at 10 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow at 12:30 PM in the Mass VA Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be held Monday March 15 from 4-8 PM.
