LEICESTER-Roger K. Hass, 68 of 121 McCarthy Avenue died Wednesday, October 8th in UMass Hospital. He leaves his wife of 5 years, Noreen C. (Rainsford) Hass; 3 sons, Richard K. Hass of Shrewsbury, Steven R. Hass of Leominster and David A. Hass of Kingwood, TX; 4 grandchildren. His first wife, Frances (Hally) Hass predeceased him in 1992.
He was born in Worcester the son of Nathan W. and Marie E. (Ohrstrom) Hass. Mr. Hass was an Airforce veteran of the Korean Conflict and then worked as a collector for Massachusetts Electric Co. for 24 years, retiring in 1998. He coached the “Engdahl Associates” sponsored O’Brien Little League team for several years, culminating in 1978 to city champions. He was an avid sports fan and a family man.
The funeral will be Tuesday, October 14th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 10:00 AM in Hadwen Park Congregational Church, 6 Clover Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, October 13th from 2:00 until 4:00 PM and 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hadwen Park Congregational Church, Building Fund, 6 Clover Street, Worcester, Massachusetts, 01603.
