Mrs. Mary D. (Bowman) MacGilvray, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late James J. MacGilvray, died at the Courtyard Nursing Center in Medford, following a brief illness. She was 100 years old.
Born in Edinborough, Scotland, on August 12, 1909, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Rosie) Bowman. She loved to cook and enjoyed watching her TV shows. Above all, Mary was a devoted family person, always caring for her loving children and grandchildren.
She was the loving mother of Sandra J. Devlin of N. Reading, Joan E. and her husband Joseph J. Shannon of Taunton and the late James J. “Pat” MacGilvray and Sister of Edith Nesbitt of New Hampshire. Mary is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Thursday at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended.
