Obituary

Marie R. (Murphy) Hayes, 82, of Medway, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Timothy “Buddy” Hayes with whom she was married for 42 years.

Born in Boston on February 25, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Bridie (Duffy) Murphy.

Mrs. Hayes was a resident of Medway since 1991 and formerly resided in Revere.

Before her retirement, Mrs. Hayes worked at Diversified Funding in Revere for many years. She had formerly worked for Blanchard Liquor Stores in the corporate offices as well as the Roxbury store location for several years.

Mrs. Hayes was an active parishioner at St. Joseph’s Church in Medway. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially many trips all over Europe as well as to Hawaii, Las Vegas and cruises to the Caribbean.

She is survived by two daughters Rosemarie Cassidy and her husband Charles of Mansfield and Frances Pepin and her husband William of Pooler, GA, four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She is also survived by two sisters Kathleen McNally and Pauline Quinn, both of Medway and many nieces and nephews.

She was a sister of the late John and Bernie Murphy, Frances Griffin and Nancy Sullivan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Friday, March 12 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Medway.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m.
