Warren "Bud" Green, 85, of Windham, NH, died Saturday, March 6, 2010 in the Windham Terrace Assisted Living Community. Mr. Green was born December 28, 1924 in Camden, NJ, son of the late Joseph H. and Clara (Sulger) Green. He had been a resident of Windham for the past year and a half, formerly a long time resident of Stoneham, MA. Bud grew up in Camden, NJ, Los Angeles, CA, Needham, MA and W. Springfield, MA, where he graduated from W. Springfield High School. He joined the U.S. Navy, serving on PT Boat 491 in the South Pacific during WWII. Upon his discharge he attended Gettysburg College on the GI Bill, where he met and married his wife, Dorothy Lowman in 1950. He earned his undergraduate degree and then attended Cornell University where he earned his Masters in Industrial Labor Relations. Bud then went to work for General Electric, mainly in the Lynn, MA plant, until his retirement in 1985. He was a very active member of the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church where he served as a deacon and sang in the choir with his wife. Bud was also active in the PT Boat Association. Family was his passion and he felt that one of his greatest achievements was celebrating his 50th wedding anniversary. Bud was also an avid golfer and a longtime devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox
He is survived by a son, Geoffrey W. Green and his wife Sharron of Winthrop, ME; two daughters, Joely Green and her fiancé, Mike Morrison of Derry, NH, Joyce Waterhouse and her husband, Mark of Derry; five grandchildren, Sarah Wilmot, Stephanie Green, Kaeley Pinkham, Brian Waterhouse and Sam Waterhouse; his sister, Carolee Hall and her husband, Lee; and also by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Green in 2006 and by his sister, Virginia Strong.
A visiting hour was held on Friday, March 12th from 11:00am until 12:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH with a service at 12:00pm in the funeral home.
