Obituary

Joseph A. Pantaleo, 66 of Windham, NH, died suddenly Wednesday, October 8, 2003 in the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. Joe, as he was known, was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 23, 1937, a son of the late Andrew and Laura (Saccamono) Pantaleo. He was a resident of Windham for the past six years, formerly living in Andover, MA. He was married in 1957 and graduated from St. John's University in 1959. Joe retired in 1991 from Hallmark Cards where he was regional sales manager from 1969 to 1991. He was responsible for bringing Hallmark products into many local and national chain stores in the New England area. Joe was an enthusiastic fan of both college and professional basketball and football. He was an active volunteer and spokesman for the March of Dimes, a referee for Little League baseball and a golf ranger for the Windham County Club. Joe had a wonderful and giving personality and will be truly missed by his numerous friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (Radigan) Pantaleo of Windham, NH; two daughters, Laurie Foley of Somerville, MA, Donna O'Meara of Alexandria, VA, one son, Michael Pantaleo of Windham, NH, six grandchildren, Christopher Foley, Amanda Foley, Caitlin O'Meara, Erica Pantaleo, Alyssa Pantaleo, Joseph Pantaleo, one brother, Giacamo Pantaleo of Exeter, NH.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 11th at 10:00am in the St. Matthews Church, 2 Searles Rd., Windham. Friends may call on Friday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. The burial will follow in the Cemetery on the Plain in Windham. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., NH Affiliate, PO Box 31160, Hartford, CT 06150-1160.
