SOMERSET … Robert Costa, 72, of Somerset and formerly of 193 Main Road, Westport, died unexpectedly Thursday March 4, 2010 while in Florida.
He was the husband of Ann (Rusin) Costa for 50 years.
He was born in Fall River a son of the late Gil and Corrine (Guilotte) Costa and had lived most of his life in Westport.
He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Main Road, Westport.
He was employed by the former Ashworth as a Machine Shop Foreman until his retirement in 1996 after more than 40 years of service.
Mr. Costa enjoyed bowling, watching the Boston Red Sox, spending time with his family. Family was very important to him and he was looking forward to becoming a great grandfather. He was a man strong in his faith.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, 2 sons: Robert G. Costa and his wife Natalie of Dartmouth and Thomas M. Costa and his fiancé Cheryl and her daughter Mackenzee of Acushnet, a daughter Michele Proulx and her husband Kevin of Mendon, MA, 4 grandchildren Ryan Proulx and his wife Nichole, Stephanie Proulx, Robert J. Costa, and Kasie M. Costa, many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was the brother of the late Gilbert, Norman, Raymond, Richard, and Alvin Costa.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Wednesday at 8AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. John the Baptist Church, Main Road, Westport. Calling hours Tuesday 4 – 8 PM. Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
