Ruth L. (Cashman) McSurdy, 87, of Andover died on Thursday March 4, 2010 at Academy Manor, Andover. Ruth was born, raised and educated in Andover. She served with The US Coast Guard , "SPAR" as a clerk during WW II. She was a member of St. Augustine Church, Andover and The Andover Senior Center. She worked, for 30 years, as a clerk with Doherty Insurance, Andover. Ruth enjoyed sewing and crafts.
The widow of Francis J. McSurdy, her family members include her daughters, Anne Peterson of Andover and Elizabeth McSurdy of Newbury, MA and her son, James and his wife, Ellen McSurdy of Andover. She leaves 2 grandchildren, Kathryn McSurdy and Stephanie McSurdy and several nieces and nephews,
Friends may call on Monday March 8, 2010 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at The Charles Dewhirst Andover Funeral Home, 33 Pearson Street, Andover. A Funeral Mass will follow on Monday at 1:00 pm in St Augustine Church, Andover. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover.
