Mrs. Rita Petrella, age 74, passed away Tuesday evening at the Brigham and Women´s Hospital in Boston following a brief illness. Rita was a Medford resident for over forty years formerly of Boston´s West End. Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Louis and Sarah (Lucacio) Capobianco and was the beloved wife of the late Sebastiano "Yano" Petrella. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Rita´s memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St. Boston, MA 02115 c/o Dr. Peter C. Enzinger M.D.
Rita is survived by two daughters, Marie Price and her husband Michael, Sara Petrella-Riley and her husband Michael, three sons, Peter L. and his wife Barbara, John J. and his wife Daria all of Medford, James and his wife Katherine of Melrose. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Michael, Dana, Jenna, Olivia, John S., Margaret, Cameron, and Catia and great granddaughter Mia. Sister of Louis Capobianco of Revere, Raymond Capobianco of Florida and the late John Capobianco.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Saturday, at 8 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church 118 High St. Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 6 - 9 and Friday 5 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
