BARTLETT Dorothy Jean (Christian) 83 in Dedham, March 6, 2010, after stubbornly battling several serious ailments. Dorothy is survived by her children Jacqueline Tulip of Taunton, Joanne Bartlett of Otto, NC., James of Saratoga Springs, UT. and Joseph of Hyde Park. Sister of Bea Fenn of CA. and her former husband Joseph F. Bartlett of FLA. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Dorothy was a long time waitress at the former Mary Hartigan’s Restaurant in Dedham. She loved classic movies, bird watching, reading and container gardening. She was well read in a variety of topics and a proud liberal who enjoyed debating issues of the day with anyone who was game for it. One of her favorite stories was how she had survived the Great Hurricane of 1938 while staying on Cape Cod. In her younger years, Dorothy enjoyed traveling, living for a time in Florida, California, and North Carolina before returning to her home state.
