Obituary

Mr. Aristomenes “Manny” Panos, 82, passed away Wednesday March 3rd, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Panos was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, April 24, 1928, a son of the late George and Maria(Filios) Panagiotopoulos. He was the husband of Mary(Colios) Panos with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

He attended Lowell Schools and was graduated from Northeastern University and Salem State College with a Master of Science degree in Administration. Mr. Panos was a retired consultant with the Plastics Institute of America at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell; Associate Director of Continuing Education and active in establishing the Criminal Justice Program, as well as former Director of Career Planning and Placement at the University. He was associated with the University for over 40 years.

Mr. Panos served as president of the Lowell Order of AHEPA, Holy Trinity Church Board of Directors, member of the Lowell Greek-American Legion, Alpha Omega Business and Professional Club of Boston, Long Meadow Country Club, past board member of the Lowell Rotary Club, Nashua Order of AHEPA, member of St Philip Greek Orthodox Church in Nashua, member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War.

He leaves his loving wife of fifty-four years, Mary(Colios) Panos of Nashua, N.H.; two sons, George Panos and his wife Priscilla and grandsons, Stephen and Ryan, great granddaughter, Madison all of Leominster, James Panos and his wife Cynthia and grandsons, Alexander and Nicholas all of California, MD; he was a godparent to Evan Coravos of Andover, and Sandra Colozoff Robertson of Nashua, N.H. and many loving nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the M.R.LAURIN FUNERAL HOME 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell on Sunday from 3 to 7p.m. The funeral will take place on Monday at 10am from the Funeral Home to be followed by services at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at 11am. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Holy Trinity Church, Lewis St, Lowell, Ma. 01854 or to St Philip Greek Orthodox Church, 500 West Hollis St. Nashua, NH 03062.
