Matthew J. Campbell, 90, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Sterling Healthcare Center. He leaves his wife of 51 years, Dolores E. (Muldoon) Campbell, a son William F. Campbell of Leominster, a daughter, Maureen E. McGuirk and her husband James F. McGuirk Jr. of Lancaster, and his yellow lab, Seamus. A sister Helen Lunz predeceased him.
Matthew was born in Brooklyn, New York, son of Matthew J. and Bridgit (McDonald) Campbell. He was an Army veteran of WWII, proudly serving his country in N. Africa and Italy. His decorations included the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was a UPS driver for many years.
Funeral services will be held from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, Monday, March 8th with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary, 23 Fales Street, Worcester. Burial will be in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne. Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, Sunday, March 7th from 3-6 p.m. Flowers may be sent or donations made to MSPCA-Angell Headquarters, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130.
