Obituary

Esther Marie Dolman, 89, of Londonderry, NH passed away Thursday March 4, 2010 at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. Born November 13, 1920 in Lawrence, MA to the late Henry E. Schueler and Henrietta (Boehm), she was a graduate of the Lawrence High School, the McIntosh Business School and obtained her BA in Education from the Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH. Esther was a resident of Londonderry for 45 years, where she taught elementary school for 18 years and had received the Teacher of the Year award. Following her retirement, she volunteered her time at the Derry Soup Kitchen. Most recently, Esther resided at the Greystone Farm Assisted Living in Salem, NH, where she served as Resident Council President and was a competitive Wii bowler. Mrs. Dolman was a member of the Londonderry United Methodist Church, the American Association of Retired Persons, the National Education Association, the NH Retired Teachers Association, the Red Hat Society and was a past Trustee of the Londonderry Leach Library.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia and her husband, Andrew of Portage, MI. She was predeceased by her first husband, Lt. Quentin Nelson who lost his life in WWII, and by her second husband, Alexander Dolman in 2009.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service was held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 2pm in the Londonderry United Methodist Church, 258 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Esther's ashes will be buried at the Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover, MA. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium is assisting the Dolman family with all arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the New Hampshire Humane Society, Meredith Center Road, P.O. Box 572, Laconia, NH 03247 or the Animal Rescue League, Rte 101, Bedford NH.
