Worcester- Edmond A. Benoit, 88, formerly of Holden, died Sunday, Oct. 5, in the Lutheran Home.
His wife of 52 years, Leora (Rocheford) Benoit, died in 1989. He leaves 3 sons, Ronald Benoit of Bodfish, CA, Donald Benoit of Augusta, ME, and Robert E. Benoit of Oakham; 2 daughters, Joyce A. DePasquale of Gardner, ME, and Gale Zukowski of Spencer; a sister, Jeanette Carrigan of CA; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters, including Florence Viner of FL. He was born in Worcester, son of Rudolph and Ida (Cofsky) Benoit and lived here most of his life.
Mr. Benoit was a maintenance man and resident manager at the former 50 Franklin Street Apartments for 14 years.
He served in the Army National Guard and the Ambulance Corps.He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in North Brookfield. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, in St. Paul’s Cathedral, 15 Chatham Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to the Holden Senior Center, 1130 Main Street, Holden, MA 01520. HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., has been entrusted with arrangements.
