Obituary

George R. Garnhum an avid motorcycle enthusiast died February 28,2010 at his home in Norton following a lengthy illness he was 63. Raised in Canton George attended St. John’s School and Brockton Trade School. He worked with Entenmann Bakery and Westwood Cartel as a truck driver before joining the Boston College Police Dept over 17 years ago where he was on the Motorcycle Unit along with the SRU (Special Response Unit) and FTU (Fire Arms Training Unit).George was past President of the Boston College Police Association and Shop Steward for Local 25 and a proud member of the Sharon Special Police.Beloved husband of Donna M.(Kelley).Loving father of Kelley A. Cooksey of Chartley, Jill M. Wilson of MO and Dawn M. Alexander of Brockton. Brother of Gail Faxon of Hanson,Jeanne Napper of Canton Julie DiCastro-Nascenzi of Sharon Jamie Campbell of Attleboro and Mark Campbell of Hudson. He is also survived by his three cherished grand children David and Amber Cooksey and Iain Wilson and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. John’s the Evangelist Church 700 Washington St Canton on Saturday at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations in Georges’s memory can be made to the Pediatric Unit C/O Dana Farber Cancer Institutes Contribution Services 10 Brookline Place West,6th FL.
