Virginia M. ( Moran ) Banis, of Stoughton, passed away on Saturday February 27, 2010 at the Braemoor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Brockton. She was 90 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward S. Banis who died in 1976.
Born January 29, 1920 in Canton, Massachusetts she was the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Mary A. ( Hanley ) Moran. She moved to Stoughton at the age of ten. Mrs. Banis was employed for many years at the former Shawmut Mills in Stoughton and later in the Quality Control Department at the Brookfield engineering Company also in Stoughton.
She was an avid reader.
Mrs. Banis is survived by two sons, Daniel P. Banis of Stoughton and E. Steve Banis of Charlston, South Carolina. She was also the sister of the late Alice McClellan, Margaret Will and Robert Banis.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday March 4, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 9 A.M. - 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of one’s choice in Virginia’s memory, would be appreciated.
