BEVERLY: Emily L. (Madden) Hansen, 88, died peacefully Sunday, February 28, 2010 in the Beverly Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert A. Hansen who died in 1990.
Born in Lawrence on December 30, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William and Lorretta (Finnegan) Madden. She had resided in Beverly most of her life.
Emily was employed as a home health aide in Beverly for many years. She had received several commendations for her dedication and caring service. He also enjoyed reading and sewing.
She is survived by two daughters, Jean L. Gallant of Peabody and Gail M. and her husband, William Holland of Danvers; four grandsons, David Wright, John, Robert and Richard Wilkins; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lynch of Spring Valley, CA and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her grandson, William Wilkins, two sisters, Francis Merson and Ruth Fillaccio and a brother, John Lynch.
Her funeral services will be held on Friday in the North Beverly Cemetery, Cabot St., Beverly at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
