Meaden, James R., Jr. “Jim” of Raynham, formerly of Brockton, died suddenly at home on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the age of 55 years. Devoted husband of Kipok (Nam) Meaden. Loving father of James R. Meaden III and Christina M. Meaden, both of Vista, California. He was the son of the late James R. Meaden, Sr. and the late Marjorie Meaden Cronin of Brockton and also the stepson of Captain Robert J. Cronin, retired, of the Brockton Police Department. Brother of Jeanette Pierce-Long, Lauraine Meaden Yaffe, Marjorie M. Meaden, Rita E. Meaden, and Attorney Mary B. Meaden, all of Brockton. He was also the brother of the late Michael F. Meaden of Brockton. He also leaves several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins.
Mr. Meaden was a 1973 graduate of Brockton High School and a 1989 magna cum laude graduate of Hawaii Pacific University, earning the degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.). He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having attained the rank of Tech Sergeant before retiring in 1989. While in the Air Force, he earned an Associates Degree, Summa Cum Laude at the U.S. Air Force University in Maxwell, Alabama and was an honors graduate of several USAF professional schools earning awards in management, leadership and logistics and acquisitions. In addition, he did several tours of duty at various USAF bases, including, Kunsan AFB in Korea, Syracuse & Plattsburgh AFB in New York and Hickam AFB in Hawaii. From the time of his retirement from the Air Force, Mr. Meaden lived in Brockton, Taunton and Raynham and held various management positions with several local companies, the latest of which was J.D. Daddario in Franklin, MA.
Visitation on Thursday March 4, from 4 to 8 pm at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA (Route 24 to Exit 17A, Follow Rte 123, past Brockton Fairgrounds, Conley Funeral Home is on the right). A celebration of his life funeral service will be held at Christ Community Church, 518 Middleboro Avenue, East Taunton, MA on Friday March 5, at 10 a.m. (Route 24S, Exit 13A). Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
