Salem: Robert R. Demeule age 81 of Salem, died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a long illness. He was the husband of Louise M. (Donahue) Demeule with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Edmund and Cora (Dube) Demeule. He served with Mass Maritime in 1944 and later served in Europe with the Navy. Bob was employed as an inspector for the former Atwood & Morrill Co. in Salem until his retirement in 1988. He was a former member of the former St. Joseph Parish and the Ward II Social Club.
In addition to his wife Louise he is survived by a son Peter L. Demeule of Salem and 3 granddaughters, Hayes, Brittany and Jessica Demeule, a great-granddaughter Anastacia Demeule, a daughter-in-law, Carol Matthews of Hamilton, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 sons, Glenn, Bruce, & Robert Demeule and his sister Eva L’Italien.
Relatives and friends are invited to his graveside service on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 226 North St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem. There are no visiting hours.
