Obituary

Pauline (Lane) Dowe, 80, of North Andover, MA and Kennebunk Maine, passed away peacefully in Maine on Friday, February 26, 2010. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard J. Dowe. Born in Oglethorpe, Georgia, Pauline was the daughter of the late Henry and Pauline (Murray) Lane. She was a school teacher in Georgia and a reading specialist in the Andover Public School system for many years.
Polly had many talents: gardening, quilting, cooking and in her later years, watercolor painting. She so enjoyed spending time with her friends who she loved so very much. She was the loving mother of Deborah A. Dowe of Phoenix, Cheryl E. Carrick of Los Angeles, Richard J., Jr. and his wife Maia-Lisa Dowe of Chester, New Jersey and James E. and his wife Mary-Jay (Reming) Dowe of Kennebunk, Maine.
Her grandchildren were the light of her life including Jennifer Kathleen, Richard James, Blake Henry and Brian Travis Dowe and Emily Colleen Carrick. She was the sister of Doris and her husband Eldridge Perry and special Aunt of Mary Polly Oxford all of Americus, Georgia. She leaves her Sister in law Nancy Dowe of North Andover and brother in law Everett Dowe of Springfield. Polly is also survived by many adored nieces and nephews.
Her funeral was celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover, Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at 10:00 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Calling hours were held on Monday, March 1, 2010, from 5 to 8 PM in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover. Burial was in St. Augustine Cemetery, Andover.
