Bucilla ---Richard H. age 64 of Boston died peacefully at home with his family on February 27, 2010 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Bucilla, son James and daughter Drew, all of Boston, and a sister, Doris Goldthwaite of Sudbury and several nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late James R. Bucilla and Elizabeth Drewes Bucilla of Framingham. He was born in Rahway, N.J. in 1946. He was the Executive Vice President of Lexington Insurance Company and served as the Senior Executive responsible for AIG’s healthcare industry casualty business, joining the company in 1987. Prior, he was employed by the Commercial Union in Boston in a variety of home office and field office underwriting management roles for fifteen years. He also worked as an independent consultant for the firm J.H. Albert. He was a graduate of Brown University (1967), and earned a J.D. degree from Suffolk Law School and a CPCU designation. He was named PLUS Man of the Year in 2006 for his impact in the field of healthcare liability.
Visiting hours will be held in the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home 1803 Centre St, West Roxbury, on Tuesday March 2nd from 3:00 – 8:00pm. A Funeral service will be celebrated in the Forsyth Chapel (at Forest Hills Cemetery) 95 Forest Hills Ave, Boston, on Wednesday March 3rd at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment following the service.
