Gary Dewayne Solomon, Jr., 26, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, February 24, 2010.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Monday, March 1, at the Ocilla Church Of God with Rev. Clayton Dowd and Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Arbor Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Dewayne was born July 24, 1983 in Fitzgerald to Gary Dewayne and Merla Fox Solomon. He lived in Fitzgerald all of His life. He was 2001 graduate of Irwin County High School where he played football and wrestled. He attended the University Of Georgia and was currently attending ABAC where he made the Presidents List in 2009. Dewayne worked as an electrician for Coachmen Industries. He attended the Ocilla Church of God and supported Christian Fellowship. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by his parents: Gary & Merla Solomon of Fitzgerald; brother and sister-in-law: Greg (BeBo) & Jody Sidwell of Tifton; grandparents: Aldeen & Mildred N. Solomon of Fitzgerald and Carl R. Smith of Knoxville, TN, as well as, several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by a brother, Chad Sidwell and grandmothers, Mildred Merritt Solomon and Anna Mae Smith.
