John J. “Jack” Barry, Jr. 73 years old of Mansfield formerly of N. Easton died unexpectedly Wednesday February 24, 2010 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband for 50 years to Judith A. (Machini) Barry. Born and raised in Holbrook, a son of the late John J. Barry, Sr. and Mary (McCarthy) Barry. Jack was a 1953 graduate of Archbishop Williams and a 1957 graduate of Stonehill College. Following his graduation he served in the US Army. Jack’s career was spent in the transportation industry. In his free time he enjoyed sports especially the New England Patriots, classic movies, photography, politics and studying military history. He valued most his time spending with family.
In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by three children Peter Barry of Reading and his son John; Sean Barry of Mansfield and Colleen Barry and her fiancé Kevin Archambault of Foxboro.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday 9:30 to 10:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 11am. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1pm.
