Obituary

Holden - Harry C. Gadde, 87, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010, after a short illness. He leaves his wife of 50 years, Frances R. (Findell) Gadde. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, and their families. Harry was born in Worcester, a son of the late Frederick C. and Agnes C. (Holm) Gadde. He was predeceased by a sister Dorothy Lof and a brother Russell Gadde. He was educated at North High where he was an all-star athlete. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and served on the SS Dennis Buckley and also a Coast Guard veteran of the Korean War. Harry played semi-pro hockey, was an avid golfer, and loved to travel. He was a member of the former Swedish American Club and Scandinavian Ski Club, the Nordic Lodge #2 Vasa Order, Greendale Retired Men's Club, American Legion Vernon Hill Post, Holden Hills Country Club, Green Hill Golf Course, and Epworth Methodist Church. He retired from Norton Company after 34 years of employment.

Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester on Monday, March 1, from 10-11:30, followed by the Funeral service at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery. Flowers may be sent or donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
