Harvey A. "Pete" Ducharme, age 76, a lifelong resident of Lowell, passed away on Monday, Feb. 22, 2010 at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Daurice J. (Devine) Ducharme.
He was born in Lowell on Nov. 29, 1933, a son of the late Denerie and Anna (Major) Ducharme.
Prior to his retirement, Pete was a security guard with Solomon Mental Health in Lowell. He was also a bartender for many years with the Pawtucketville Social Club and the Club Passe Temps in Lowell.
Pete loved playing video poker and was an avid sports fan, especially the Red Sox, Patriots and Minnesota Vikings. He was happy go lucky, liked to socialize and was loved by all who knew him.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Michelle Gomes and Daniel Ducharme, both of Lowell; a sister, Doris Labrecque of Pelham, NH, also several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Evangeline Verville, Rudolph "Tuffy" Ducharme and Woodrow "Bibi" Ducharme.
Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Saturday, Feb. 27 from 2 to 6pm at which a time a prayer service will take place at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
