Mrs. Kathleen Brown, age 88, widow of the late Harvey Brown of Siloam passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Brown was born in Surry County on February 15, 1922 to the late Ed and Lela Hayes Mayes. Mrs. Brown worked as a housewife and farmer and was of the Christian Faith. Mrs. Brown is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Lillie Brown, Benny and Ann Brown and Arnold Brown all of Siloam; three grandchildren, Amy Butler, Joey Brown and Amanda Brown; three great grandchildren, Andrew and Katie Butler and Ryan Sellers; four sisters, Jesteen Eads of Siloam, Christine Pike of Mocksville, Reynolda Newman of Elkin and Peggy Holyfield of Dobson. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Ellis and Lester Mayes; one sister, Annie Wall and two infant sisters. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Michael Thames officiating with interment to follow in the Pine Hill Friends church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 25, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
