Obituary

Worcester – Sharon A. Hassett, 53 of 425 Pleasant died on Saturday October 4 in her home.

She leaves a daughter Bridget Briody-Joiner of Charlton; three brothers William Hassett of Oxford, David Hassett of East Douglas and Raymond Hassett of Worcester; a sister Patricia Hassett of North Rutland; 1 grandchild; 36 nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Champ. She is predeceased by four brothers John, Francis, Robert and James and two sisters Carolina and Muriel. Ms. Hassett was born in Worcester daughter of James and Leona (Desilets) Hassett and graduated from the David Hill Fanning School of Nursing.

Sharon was a nurse at local nursing homes and was also an animal lover.

Sharon loved Music. She played the drums for the George Washington Carver Drum Corps of Great Brook Valley as a teenage and in the 70's she was the lead drummer for 7 years in the all women rock band "The Peppermint Conspiracy" which was a back up band at the Hampton Beach Casino in New Hampshire and at the Comic Strip on North Main Street, Worcester. Sharon was a friend of Bill W.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday October 7 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond St. with a mass at 11 AM in St. Peter’s Church 931 Main St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park at a later date. Calling hours are on Tuesday Oct. 7 from 9 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League Holden St. Worcester, MA 01605
