Mrs. Rose M. Sciarappa, age 81 of Medford, formerly of Cape Cod died Wednesday in the Wingate At Andover. She is the wife of Frederick J. Sciarappa with whom she spent more than 62 years of marriage. Mrs. Sciarappa was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Angelo and Josephine (Pistone) Porrovecchio. She attended Julie Billiard High school in Boston’s North End. In earlier years she was the proprietor and hairdresser of the former Chez Rose Hair Salon in Medford which she operated from 1968-1986. The love of her life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved cooking and baking. Mrs. Sciarappa was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church and a former communicant of Our Lady of the Cape Church where she had been active in calling numbers for the weekly Bingo. She was known for organizing many trips for the seniors to Foxwoods. She is a member of the Saint Joseph Society of Boston’s North End. In addition to her husband, she he is survived by two daughters: Arline Procopio and her husband Anthony of Salem NH, Sharon Sciarappa and her partner Rosa Matara of Tewksbury. Loving grandmother of Debra Barbaro and Lisa Caron. Great Grandmother of Olivia, Nicholas and Alyssa Barbaro, William and Sofia Caron. Sister of Betty Pantone of Boston’s North End, Josephine Fernandez of Burlington, Salvatore Porrovecchio of Medford and the late Honey Costa. Friends may call Friday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, Saturday at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
