Obituary

Robert L. MacDonald, Sr., 78, of Windham, NH, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 in his home. He was born in Winchester, MA on May 10, 1931, a son of the late Winfred A. and Vida Pearl (Nickerson) MacDonald . Mr. MacDonald was a resident of Windham for the past 24 years, formerly living in Tewksbury, MA. He was a US Air Force and Army Korean War veteran, as well as a member of the National Guard. Mr. MacDonald was the former owner and president of Eastern Analytical Laboratories, Inc in Billerica, MA. He was a strong supporter of the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis. Mr. MacDonald was a member of the AARP, and a former member of the Tewksbury Congregational Church. He enjoyed history, computers, photography, electronics, science, woodworking, and was an avid writer.
He is survived by his wife Frances A. (Cook) MacDonald of Windham; one son, Robert L. MacDonald Jr. of Hollis, NH; two daughters, Nancy J. Cook of Belmont, NH, and Jill S. Folan of Nashua; six grandchildren; as well as four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kathy MacDonald in 1975 and his brother, W. Alan MacDonald.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 26th from 4 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial will follow in the Tewksbury Cemetery in Tewksbury.
