CHARLTON___Elizabeth P. "Betty" (Samborski) Marc, 86, of 88 Masonic Home Rd., formerly of Auburn, died Saturday February 20, 2010 in Overlook Masonic Health Center, Charlton. Her husband of 51 years, Henry S. Marc died in 2006.
She leaves three sons, Henry S. Marc of Oxford; David T. Marc of Barre and John H. Marc of Ft. Walton Beach, Fl., two daughters, Susan Cammuso of Shrewsbury and Elizabeth M. Ducharme of Webster; eight grandchildren, two sisters, Estelle Groat of New York, N.Y., and Constance McCabe of CT., and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, Charles Samborski, Henry Samborski, Jeannette Galkowski and Agnes Roszko. She was born in East Brookfield, a daughter of Stanley and Clementine (Krywinski) Samborski. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Elementary and High School in Worcester and attended Salter Secretarial School.
Mrs. Marc was a homemaker and was the secretary and clerk of Premcor, Inc., a machine tool and metal stamping company, for 25 years. She retired in 1988.
Elizabeth was a member of the Polish American Veterans of WW II Ladies Auxiliary of Worcester and was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Sampson WW II Navy Veterans, Inc., of Geneva, NY. Mrs. Marc was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Worcester and was a former member of the Polish Naturalization and Independent Club. She was a volunteer at the Auburn Senior Center and knitted for newborns at St. Vincent Hospital. She loved arts & crafts and was always busy with her knitting, crocheting, and plastic canvas needlepoint. For many years Betty and her husband had their own Ceramics studio.
The Marc Family would like to thank the staff of the Overlook Masonic Health System (Masonic Home) for the dedicated, loving care of their Mom over the course of the last years. We do not believe that she could have received better care at any other facility in the world.
A Memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 27 in the Masonic Home Chapel, 88 Masonic Home Road, Charlton. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn will be private. There are no calling hours.
