GIANCOLA, James Thomas, age 58, of North Bergen, NJ died on Tuesday, February 23, 2010.
Beloved son of Jean and the late James. Beloved brother of Diane Giancola, Gail Lovallo and husband Gary. Loving uncle of Arthur James Hanna-Giancola, Alexis Rose Lovallo and Nicholas Michael Lovallo.
He began his professional journey in North Bergen as a teacher while continuing his education. In 1979, he earned a Master of Arts degree from Jersey City State College. His desire to enter the helping profession led him to Edinboro, PA where he earned the degree of Master of Education in 1982 with Specialist Certificates in Behavior Management and School Psychology. In 1985 he accepted a position as School Psychologist with the Fresno Unified School District and continued his education. In 1997 he earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology, and continued helping troubled students and families until his illness in 2009.
Friends and family are invited to visit on Thursday, February 25th and Friday, February 26th, from 2-4 p.m.and 7-9 p.m. at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ. Funeral service to begin on Saturday, February 27th at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home and then to Madonna Chapel on the Hill in Fort Lee, NJ for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to follow at Madonna Cemetery.
