Francis A. Crispo, age 88, died suddenly on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell. Born in Wilmington, Francis has been a lifelong resident. He was the loving son of the late Mary A. (Blanchett) & Joseph H. Crispo.
Francis worked as a plasterer for the family business, Crispo Brothers Plasterers. Later in life he was a custodian at the Shawsheen Elementary and North Intermediate Schools of Wilmington, retiring in the late 1980's. He went on many trips, most notably was to Alaska, Disney World and he traveled the old Rt. 66 road to California.
Francis proudly served with the US Army during World War II. He served from October, 1942 to December of 1945. Francis did not have children, but treated his many loving nieces and nephews as if they were is own.
Francis was the loving brother of the late Louise Couture, Isabelle, Charles, Joseph, Ernest, Leo, George, and Anthony Crispo. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo - Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 374 Main St. Wilmington, Thursday February 25th, at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Dorothy Church, Main St., Wilmington at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
