Obituary

WORCESTER-Ann E. (Black) Healey, 91, of Worcester, died Friday, February 19th in the Millbury Healthcare Center. Her husband, James R. Healey, died in 1971. She leaves two daughters, Mary E. Jenkins and her husband Earle of Dudley, and Deborah A. Hazzard and her husband Roger of Southbridge; two sisters, Catherine Sullivan and Mary Black, both of Worcester; six grandchildren, Jennifer Burke, Lauren Cayer, Christopher, Kimberly and Kelly Miller and Michael Jenkins; her great grand-daughter Emma Cayer; son-in-law Glenn Miller of Auburn and many nephews and nieces. Her daughter, Ann E. Miller and three brothers, Robert J. Black, Jr. and John and Edward Black predeceased her.
Mrs. Healey was born in Worcester, the daughter of Robert J. Black, Sr. and Annie E. (Scannell) Black. She was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School. Mrs. Healey was a payroll clerk for 20 years at Thom McAn Shoe retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church and the Colonial Bowling League; and enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, and was an avid sports fan.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Millbury Healthcare Center for the caring, compassion and support shown to Ann during her six years there.
Funeral services and burial are private. There are no calling hours. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
