Lillian (Tawa) Hallal of West Roxbury passed away February 19, 2010 at the age of 93.
Lillian was born in Boston in 1917. In 1933 she married Fozy Hallal, and together they owned and operated Fozy's Variety in West Roxbury until their retirement in 1974. Lillian and Fozy shared over 70 years of marriage until Fozy's passing in 2004.
Lillian was the loving mother of Diana Barbar of Norwood and her late husband Thomas, Mitchell Hallal and his wife Mary of Walpole. Cherished Grandmother “Thethe Leila” of 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Fred, Tony, and Joe Tawa, Jeannette Hamwey, and Louise Savarese. Sister-in-law of Madeline and Lorraine Tawa. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Lillian's Funeral Service was concelebrated by the Very Reverend John Teebagy, Very Reverend Michael Abdelahad, and Very Reverend Timothy Ferguson in the Church of St. John of Damascus in Dedham on Monday February 22, 2010.
