William B. Farrell, Jr., 47…Avid Fisherman…
NORTH READING: William Burton Farrell, Jr., age 47, a resident of North Reading for over 25 years, died unexpectedly Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at his home.
He was born in Lowell on January 18, 1956 the son of William B. and Barbara (Hill) Farrell who survive him of Atkinson, NH. Mr. Farrell was raised in Reading and graduated from Reading High School.
Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served for 3 years until being honorably discharged with the rank of private in 1977 from Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Mr. Farrell was employed as a Commonwealth of Massachusetts Certified Automobile Mechanic and worked at several Reading area auto repair facilities.
He was an avid outdoorsman. Mr. Farrell especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and camping. He traveled on numerous fishing trips to the Florida Keys, North Carolina and Labrador.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by 4 sisters; Susan M. Gjertsen and her husband John of Chester, CA, Nancy A. D’Eon and her husband Phil of Bellingham, Kathleen Jackson of Tewksbury and Barbara J. Torre of Goffstown, NH; 1 nephew, 4 nieces; also many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday, October 7th from 6-9 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment will follow at Tewksbury Cemetery. Please OMIT FLOWERS.
