James J. Doyle, 69, of Log Road died Thursday at the Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence. He was the loving husband of Elaine M. (Powers) Doyle.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late James F. and Helen(Winn)Doyle. He lived in Smithfield for 48 years.
Mr. Doyle worked in the family business, Doby Industrial Finishing of Providence which eventually moved to Greenville as Doby Corp. where he worked for many years. He also worked for CVS in Woonsocket until retiring. He was an Air Force veteran.
He enjoyed reading, computer programming and was an avid movie goer. One of his favorite pastimes was enjoying the home that he had built, constantly designing, building and improving. He was a brilliant man and will be dearly missed.
He is also survived by his children Sean P. Doyle of Brockton, MA, Sheila C. Butera of Barrington, Kevin M. and Kaitlyn E. Doyle of Midlothian, VA, two grandchildren, Brittany N. and Bryan J. Butera and a brother Charles F. Doyle of Charlestown. He was the brother of the late Joan A. Silva.
A memorial service will be held on March 6 at 10:30am in St. Michael Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Burial was private.
